Hi Folks, I know that someone posted a topic with the same subject a while ago. My problem is a bit different and, perhaps, related to OS 4.1 by JJ (which I am using).

But in the end I just think it is my fault...

Whenever I hit the note repeat button PAD B5 is being triggered. I don't have to hit the pad though. It is really getting on my nerves... Does anyone of you know where to turn that thing of?

damn you know i had this problem back in the day on 2.01, and i totally forgot what the reason was...if i remember i'll tell you. meanwhile, is it happening on every program or just one?

maybe hardware, i would remove the top case and then just nicely reasemble it, maybe take the pad module off and unpug and re-plug pad 5 , i also remeber there was a screw that was touching some electricl ciruit ( long scews from the pad module ) so look around there as well i dono i could be completely off but sounds like your pad its been triggered because its touching something else on the board

i think the issue is software before hardware, or at least that was the case for me - it may be hardware but exhaust the software solution first

Sounds to me like a definate hardware problem... something is shorting out that pad. Open up the mpc and make sure there isn''t something in there, also make sure all circuit board screws are snug (don't over tighten them though, you'll crack your circuit board.)

try to reset the mpc (might be power up + [erase])
