How Can I Reset the Pads for Standard Midi Note Order??

I'd like to use the mpc to trigger some software programs, but it seems like the order of the notes is all over the place so it makes playing kits in drum programs very difficult, is there a reset command that will fix this, or a better way to do it.

can you tell me which bank to start with and what note/number to start with, it's a little confusing. I don't want to have any problems with the 16 levels...maybe that's irrelevant i don't even know, anyway thanks for getting me closer and if you have any other insights i'd appreciate it.

i guess i figured out how to number the pads (thanks nichole) could someone let me know if i'm doing this right?

starting in bank a
going from left to right
starting at number 36 for the first pad


also I don't know why this is happening but for some reason in bank a pad # 3 won't make anysound when i try to trigger a softsynth with it, also the same problem on pad #14.. no sound, does anybody know what this could be the other pads are triggering.

ok, I actualy solved the problem with the dead note


but now here's is my problem, i've got the mpc synced up to trigger my computers sequencer but when ever i set record on the computer sequencer and press play on the mpc there is a timing lag, the computer starts off going slower than the mpc and it takes a few seconds for it to catch up, I don't have a count-in feature enabled on my sequencer so it should start right away with the mpc but for some reason it won't. I know the work around is probably just to cut off the beginning of the track where the slow part is but that can get tedious with many tracks.

does anybody have a fix for this?

I just used Blue Box and made a chromatic program to use.

no one actually tried my tip ;( in the old OS if you set the tracks pgm to the internal midi track you couldn't change it from the default f'd up note assignment without going into the sys settings and setting up all the pads one by one so most of us never usedit & just created a chromatic pgm ONCE to use (myself included). one night i tried to use the note order feature in mode 11 (select a note, press window, choose 35-98) on a track that is set to a program change number and to my surprise it worked. now i can easily scroll thru my sound modules presets from the mpc without having to futz around with a blank pgm.. not that it was a big deal or anything, just not necessary w/ the new os. can't help ya much on your sequencer issues tho ;(

what should the first note number be?

and is it correct that it should go from left to right, bottom to top?
