Unless you just contributed a small piece of a larger work, you can use the SR form. For instance, if you were a singer songwriter, and you only have the recording to demo the song lyrics and melody to potential buyers, then you would NOT use the SR, you would use a PA (performing arts) form.
But if you produced a whole beat, even with sample arrangements, use the SR (sound recording) form. That means, the finished product is what your copywriting, or a piece thereof. So, if you produced a track, and a rapper wrote and performed on there, you still use the SR form, because your part of the recording needs to be copyrighted. If yall want to sell that track to get credit for writing and music that will actually be redone by other folks in another recording, that's when you use the PA form. Its easier to just use SR for alot of sh**, but read all the descriptions.
Companies are tricky, you need a couple grand. Have a lawyer do it, so it gets done right. Don't ever give anyone 'power of attorney' or anything like that. Do some more research tho. Also go to:
