He is definately using an ide drive trust me, it's just that it seems like you can only make it 'seen' by your mpc via the scsi connector, hence the ide2scsi bridge. So an IDE harddrive works but only via a ide2scsi bridge.

I have a Plextor ext scsi hd 9gb.

But, people are always looking for shortcuts and also attempt to maximize their gear and options, (some peeps without even knowing what's what, maybe they SAW it on a "tutorial" video or "heard" it could be done or "know" there is a 40pin atapi connector on the 2kxl motherboard and assume a hard drive will work. Some stuff might connect though but just won't work the way they are thinking though, case in point, digital spdif input on 2k/2kxl and they person who tries to hook up an analog source to it. Same connectrs, different operability.

thank you, for your answers,
I know what a SCSI is, and i know what a IDE is... the only reason was...
that I have 4 IDE HD at home, and no SCSI, and so I asked if maybe somebody had already tried it...

but I am going to buy an SCSI drive on ebay, it costs 5 euro, and it should work fine, thanks for ya help
