MPC1000 OVERLAYING TRACKS WITH SAME SLICED SAMPLE GROUP

Arite guys I just copd a 1000 and everything looks pretty smoove, 128mb ram..alls good.

but when im doing tracks on top of my drums, tracks off of samples ive sliced up and assigned to seperate pads... I get my first melody recorded, then i switch the track and try to add to the melody with overdubs on different tracks and sometimes It wont let me trigger/record sounds(from the same program where I have all of my sliced samples in)on top of other alllready recorded tracks. Like add to the melody, play sounds on top of sounds...

its a little hard to explain, but if anyone knows what I mean, or ran into the same thing..id appreciate any help or advice. or maybe this is just how the mpc1000 works!

if i read your question right: mode-->pgm--->params--->switch from mono to poly in upper right-hand corner.

u must of just put them samples into ur mpc...i had that problem but i fixed it when i saved all my slices to my mpc...so if u just brought them up and worked on them...then just save them then do what ur doing...i dont know if it will fix ur problem but thats how i fixed mine

putting the PGM play mode to poly wont solve your problem-cuz if you got a pattern layed down with your chops chances are u recorded them in MONO so when u switch the pgm to POLY ur samples wont b.lend smooth like before they'll overlap causing uneven volume levels and/or phasing out.....Try this..when u chop ur samples up in SLICE MODE, after u conve3rt it create a new program-unless you already have a pgm goin and ur buildin it with them chops---- either way after you get Said chops programmed copy that program-MODE PGM highligh program nale on top of screen and press WINDOW-select copy(F5??)..then with the new program set the Program Play to POLY and then adjust each individual pad bvoice overlap setyting-----and u still got the original program in Mono mode. So lay down ur chops with the MONO pgm then go in and do ur accents, stutters, whatever over5dubs u wanna do...Do these with the Poly program....Aiiiight?? If a Pgm is on MONO it doesnt matter if the pads are mono or poly, but in Pgm play POLY the individual padf settings can be either Poly or Mono.... MONO=ONE POLY=MANY(more than 1)

Just lettin you know playboy. ive been rockin the jj os for over a month! My mpc works even BETTER than before! They gotten rid of the directory error!!! which is harmful when saving your projects! you can test out the free beta at:

You can always switch back.... (which i doubt you will )

and for the record if there is a bug they constantly update the os

as far as customer support goes (it costs $30.00 for the full version which has grid edit like the 2500, simult like the 2000xl, recordable track mutes, mmc mtc, and 4 track soon to be 8 track direct recording: live preformance along your sequences like the 2500 )

It's a win win situation cuz!
