Production set-up help needed

I have a pc with pro tools le & mbox 2 w/reason rewire, analogue mackie 1402 mixing desk, mackie tapcos speakers,keyboard, technic 1210's & an akai mpc1000. id like to know if this set up is ok to make my beats on? As pro tools is good for recording but would it be easier to use a program such as logic where you can record & also have better midi possibilitys for external sounds?
So right now im pondering if my set up is right as im under the impression i might not be able to use my audio interface also if pro tools isnt being used? Help please!

looks like you got everything you need..

ypur good to go. If you dont have any prior experience with any of that gear than you have a lil learning curve to get over than you'll be platinum.

You have quite a decent setup there, especially for just starting out. Like Otayo20 said, if you're new to all that equipment, you may have to take a bit of time to figure out how everything works, and what your workflow's going to be like.

I don't know what you're experience with Pro Tools or MIDI in general is, but Pro Tools is very capable in the MIDI department from my experience. I'm not too knowledgeable about Logic, but I'd see if Pro Tools is going to work for you before worrying about Logic.

Just read up all you can from your manuals and do online research. Take your time and you'll figure out what's going to work for you. Good luck.
