still getting wrong file error after formatting

about a month ago i was getting wrong file error when trying to load some programs and sequencing from my flash card,shortly after i started getting same error with harddrive,i call akai tech support he reccomended transfering file to computer formatting card and hard drive and upgrading to latest op. sys. (1.22) then transfering files back . ive done that and since i have im in even worst shape im getting wrong file almost everytime i save and try to reload programs on both harddrive and flashcard i just went back to 1.20 op sys hopefully this will help until then i hope this will be weeded out in the next upgrade

I think you'd want to back up (using USB), update to 1.22 and THEN format the hard drive. Once the format is completed, restore your backup.

thats exactly what ive already done which multiplied the problem with wrong file error

I don't have a hard drive, but I have only had this problem twice when I first got my mpc(with CF card). It's funny how this problem is so sporadic. Hopefully once you work out your problem it won't happen again.

The problem is how your saving your projects. Do a search and youll find the answer. This has been repeated numerous amount of times. theres only one way to avoid it. Im at work so I cant get into detail. Please search.

I think the basis of that quick fix He's telling you to search for is the method of creating a folder to save to first. In all honesty I use to do that,but haven't done it in about a month and I haven't had any problems.Making a folder to save to before you start your projects should stop the problem though.

Same here , backup , update 1.22 , format , transfer backup.
1 month and up until now , no problems.
