I would start by reading the manual. Use the search here at the forums to address any problems you might encounter. If you can't find help in a search then post a question asking for advice or help. :D :D

Thanks. Im actually getting it monday, UPS came by friday but i was at work and they needed me to sign. Im happy i get monday off. I just wanted to get all amped up about it and look at videos or read tips. Ill skim around tonight when im off work

First question to pop up is where can i get expansion ram or a bigger hd for the 2500? i saw one for the 1000.

I also want to know the best way to erase the old sounds i dont want.

The 1000 and the 2500 uses the same ram and HD's.

I would go to your local Music store to get the ram. If they are an authorized akai dealership you'll be safe getting the ram there. I have heard that up to 256MB ram will work, but it's not recommended by akai. :D

^ ^ go to the 1k forums and look for the sticky about working ram.

you can get it for half the rediculous price of the akai ram, and it works just as well.

yes i agree these units are amazing ive owns many pieces of pro equiptment and this unit has impacted my excitement towards producing more than all the pieces put together i still feel this way and ive had mine for over 6months. i got my ram from musicians friend i forgot which web site i got my hard drive from
