Syncing Problem with MPC 2000 Classic & Cubase VST32

(Before it is said) I've checked both manuals on this issue. I am syncing my MPC 2000 (slave) to Cubase VST32 (master). The sync is OK accept for the start position. When play is clicked on Cubase, the MP does not start at 001.00.00. It jumps arbitrarily to 003.00.00 or 005.00.00 or something else but it never starts at 001.00.00. I'm syncing with MTC not MIDI Clock. The tempos are locked tight, but I need to get them to start at the same spot.

A trick I use is to create a new sequence of 1 bar only with nothing on it

I put this in front of the sequence string and it works......after you finish recording every thing u can cut the front silence out and it will be perfect
