Update and upgrade

Im eventually going to expand my 2500 with a new HD and more ram. I am a little afraid to open it up though. It came with 4 screws, im guessing thats for mounting the HD once i get it.

I wanted to ask where i can find the steps to upgrade it.

Also what type of HD do you guys think is best?

Last thing is whats your expierence with useing ram that isnt from akai?

both ram and hd are like childs play to install, info is in the manual although once done i saw that it is pretty much self explainitory (but still go with the manual) i have the hitachi 40gig that was on the approved list on the akai sight the hd is fine i do have some save issues but that more a software issue

Page 122 in the Mpc 2500 manual. if for what ever reason you didn't get a manual(bought a used 2500 or something) you can download one in pdf format at http://www.akaipro.com/supportdocuments.php#MPC2500

The PDF manual is good to have on your PC. I use the search function of the PDF manual when I'm trying to find something, works way better than the paper manual. Hope this helps
