Recovering Faulty Disk Data

Hey Guys,

I have the 3000 with a zip drive attached. I disk is not able to load the data from the D partition (needless to say, I have all my song, sequence, and sound data on this partition for ALL my beats). Is there a way I can get this info onto a PC a possibly save the data to a new disk or is this partition toast.


I know this is partly my fault now because the disk gave me warning it was causing an error on the disk. When I'd click over to the partition to load something the drive would click a lot before accessing the partition.

or pay a buttload for the service from a recovery service

ive lost a few of my fav beats due to currupt data.. so fustrating - i dont even wanna bother remaking the beat... will have to f*ck with a CF reader soon

the price to pay for using 'vintage' gear i suppose

not sure if it'll work for the 3000, but there's a file recovery program @ www.rogerlinndesign.com for the MPc 60....

This does not work on an MPC3000.

It works on an MPC60 loaded with the 3.XX OS only.

I was considering contacting Iomega and see if they can help. The disk is a Zip disk and the data is on the D partition. The A, B, & C partitions are ok.

Put the zip in a freezer .... It works with hard drives. than re save onto another zip and make a backup of that on your computer...

Are you serious?? It's funny you said this because I remember Alchemist had his disks in the refrigerator in that online video.

It is a common disk recovery tactic. Get your info off of the disk asap and trash the disk...

Then backup your zips on a PC once a week.. I usually do that then burn them ont a CDr
