Cubase 4 and Akai mpc 1000

what I am trying to do is, say I have my Akai mpc sending different midi channels (in sequence mode) through my Tascam FW-1082 into Cubase. I want to be able to have my midi channels in Cubase to receive different midi chanels(at the same time) comming from the mpc while I am making a song track by track. need help

anybody using softsynths in cubase 4 (using the input transformer) and the mpc 1000. eg. mpc sending multipal midi messages to cubase 4
