Chopping samples

Hey all. I'm new to using the mpc 2000XL. I know how to chop the samples already but the problem is this. When I resize the start and end points in the trim screen (under zone) I usually try to get the piece of the sample that I want. Once that's done, I go to edit then I hit "slice sound" and I pick "create new programs: no". now, after I hit "do it", it processes the sample. However, when the trim screen returns, the samples have the original start and end points, not the ones I created. What am I doing wrong? thanks and God bless you all.

the sounds that you trimed up will be saved, as you trimmed them under new names.

EG if the sound you trimmed was called A, then the new sounds will be saved as A1, A2, A3 and so on

you must then go into the program menu and assign these new sounds to your pads.

When I go the program screen(pg113) then chose drum1, then chose Auto (for it to assign each sample chop onto a seperate pad, the sound comes out sounding VERY slow Like it is at a tempo of 20 or something. The main tempo is at 105(Mas and Seq), so I can't figure out why the chop is coming out so slow.
Any ideas why this is happening?
