New to the MPC world & I need help!

About a week ago I got the mpc 4k (this is the first mpc i've ever owned, I've only used Roland up to now) and i'm trying to figure out if i'm cutting up samples the right way.

What i'm doing right now is grabbing a 4 beat loop off a record, splitting each 1 beat into an individual sample, then time stretching each beat to the same bpm and putting them back together in a sequence.
And i dont know if i'm doing it right 'cause when i play the loop at the new bpm it sounds weird, its not smooth when I play it, its sounds choppy...maybe i'm not dividing the samples right when i look at the wave form
any advice on what i should do? thanks

if this answers your ? but due you trim the samples, are the in timestretch stteings correct, if the sample is not to fast is tmestretch needed.. but truly set the start and end points set tightly..check these things
