Well this is what happened to me yesterday:

I was normally playing with my mpc (I dont have HD), then I just tried loading stuff and suddenly the machine didnt see the folders where my beats and samples are, I dont know if the files are destroyed. This CF card shows that all folders that there are are empty, and I had folder for beats and another folder for samples and they seem to be disappeared. WTF!!
I still have some hope left cause it seems that the CF card is still almost full (as it was before this accident)
Yes I´ve tried it through USB, but the folders that there are seem to be empty and I cant see the two folders.

So Is there a way that I can dig those folders or are they destroyed?
Is this the New Folder bug?
I´m thinkin´that maybe i shoukd take that CF to some computer wizard or something....
I´m so pissed if all my beats are destroyed cause, they were only on that CF, and it was like all the beats that I¨ve made in half year...
Yeah I know i should have copied them to my computer but I´m in the army so i dont have computers around...
Damn

I think there's programs that recovers "lost" files for pc. Use google. I dont know if it works with a cf card, but why not?

Allways keep a backup of your cf-cards on your harddrive. you never know what will happen.

at the top of the load screen, swith it from 'Hard Disk' to 'Internal', then back to 'Hard Disk'. This always fixes the problem for me.

what i would do, copy all your files onto your computer, then format the Flash card, then copy them back to the card. this should fix it for a while
