like Stutters, or pad cut outs whilst playing more than 2 pads at a time or any other issue ralated to the Pads.

i read on the yahoo forums about 1 guy who claims he has pad stutters with OS 1.45 on his 4k. no one has replied to him. so i thought lets see over hear if anyone has these issues.

i myself tried the 4k last week, love it, about buy one too. but i experienced some pad issues as well, with 1.51 installed on the 4k.

the pads would cut out at time when playing just a kick and snare.

You seem like you are looking for reasons not to buy a 4000. I've read some of you're earlier posts, and they all seem to focus on someone else's issues. If you would've noticed no one is complainig about the current upgrade. This may be far fetched but do you work for Roland or something? No one piece of equipment is a end all solution. Either buy the 4000,or move on.

That is true kaotikmuzikproductions is right! Every since the new v1.51 OS for the 4k nobody has been complainin so the 4k must be tight! :P I need to make a move fast before they run out of the white 4k's!

good speech...

did you prepare it in the toilet?

look...i dont work for no music gear company...i make music. thats all.

i am trying to find out all i can about the 4000. dont know where your from, but paying £1350 for a barebone MPC aint no joke.

if there are problems then i can wait.

as for seeing no complaints on this site...well i appreciate it. but it depends how far one really takes thier machine. does everyone play many of the pads in one go whilst recording drums?

well, i do, and i know for a fact that some mpc users dont. some tap in the kicks, and then the snares, etc. you may not encounter pad problems like that.

but ime used to playing kits, and i did come across a pad issue in a music store last week, whilst demoing a 4k.

so for me, this is important.

and if you didnt want to post, you shouldnt have.

dont waste your time, or mine for that matter.

and please do not monitor peoples posts, i cannot stand that, its like saying 'oh...aint you that guy who kept on asking about the mpc 1000, so how come you are now looking into buying an mpc 4000?

one can change thier mind(s) to anything.

catch my drift.

Roops'

Quick question...........Your thinking about buying the 4k right?!

From reading various threads etc and going buy your current setup......Mac......Logic blah blah

What is it you want the 4k to do that your 1k and logic in combination cant.
You got your pads without stutter on the 1k.....You got all the resoultion u need in logic

I've used the 4k and seen many others work with it in a more full on way than u describe intending on using it...That thing is a monster....I jus think u might be caught up in the mist of what it can do and what it can do for u.

You got a cool set up.....1k.......Mac set up (Logic/plugings watever) If your good at making music and using the 1k in combo with logic etc, u got more than enuff power....Perhaps ur victim of gear lust. 8)

I'd cop a z series if anything and then put the change in the bank

Just an observation

nice thought...cheers Bravo.

i dont know, it could be gear lust...or that i feel slightly limited by the 1000 for its editing capabilities.

I got stuttering pads, there is some variabity in the quality of the pad sensors wich causes some items to stutter and others to run perfectly. I got an item with the 2 left pads on the bottom stuttering.
It doesnt bother me that much, there is also a skill level involved

what he said but if you you change your sample to "one shot" in the zone area of the progams page it doesnt do that but the bad part is that it plays the whole sample like it or not.

But if any one has a solution to this problem we'd like to know

Thanks

i found out if u change the poly setting to 1 you get that sample cut by it self effect like setting the xl to mono on playback in program( gei it mono-1)

It's not gear lust for me (maybe just a tad perhaps) but the 1k is missing too many typical MPC features - I liked the fact you can hook up via USB as opposed to SCSI on the 1k - so for me, my only other option was the 4k which is proper heavy. :)

Pad stuttering was a problem for me at first but after using the pads for a while I noticed that it doesn't do it if you hit the pads in a certain way.

Well said Yoot.

you got your new chunky beast yet?

hows things goin with the 4k.

ime just finishing off a few demo tracks that my cousin sister has provided the vocals for. she has come from New Jersey for a few weeks and boy the voice is amazing.

i have like 6 rythm patterns laid out, with melodies and various chords, so we are are knocking out some demos.

just wish i had the emagic Space Designer rever right now, but hav'nt yet received my logic pro update. And ime dying to get hold of the 4k to bang out on as well.

I haven't experienced any issues with the Pads and I Bang the Hell Out of Mine..actually just tap em right...LOL......what i usually do anyway is send the same sound to two pads ..so lets say im tappin out a drumroll i dont have my fat fingers tripin over each other.....it just makes it easier.....

I'm feelin' this beast man. Popped in DV a couple days ago for a compressor & asked about the new 4k - which hasn't arrived yet. They're chasing it for me. It seems to be taking a while. If you've got the funds Roops then I'd just order now!
Best of luck with the demo. :)
