so i went in guitar center today to check out the 500 and saw this!!! it wasnt a sale or anything... they must really be trying to get rid of the classics, or they think the 1000 is a piece of c rap!!!!

i didnt ask them because last time i asked about an mpc they told me i should get appleton live and i can do everything the mpc can do and more and nobody uses those things anymore.... basically i would be wasting my money so i rolled my eyes and quit asking them questions  but the 2500 and 500 r rergular price.... its funny to see the 500 for 799 right next to the 1000 for 599!!!!

i got my classic from GC for 599 too. It was on the Labor Day sale though, and it was a floor model...and i didn't get a cf card. oh well, it's been great so far!

word i saw the same price at gc in new york, but it was a month or so ago and i think it was just the floor model. its not there anymore , and they got the new black ones foe $999 . the black ones are better they got the good pads. not that i ever had any problems with the other pads

Do you think Guitar Center will match the $599 price on any of the new ones including the black?

I just bought my MPC1000 two days ago... bought the classic model.. and I managed to sneak out the door with their floor model for less than $599.

So far I would say this is the best $600 I've ever spent. I had been struggling with an old Emu ESi-32 for almost a decade... and now all my struggles are over.

Can't wait to get the RAM upgrade and a hard drive for it... this thing is gonna rock with that!
