Aitte heres the deal..... I got a mpc 2000 xl and i just picked up a yamaha eb 303 keyboard... Now i got 2 midi cables and i plugged them in correctly but thats where my problems come into play...

One i lost all control of my rec+play button... I hate the fact that i gotta press record on the keyboard in order to record my melody and such..... I rather have it on the mpc where i get my little count down before recording.....Plus it looks the melody is being recorded on the keyboard rather than the MPC.... Maybe something about setting a master and slave???

Second, i get no sound from the keyboard on the mpc (maybe its because i should plug the audio output from the keyboard to the ins of my mpc... But i hear sounds from the keyboard...... Could this lead to a problem when its time to record on my computer....

Third once i load up from my drums on the mpc and i try to figure out how to use the keyboard and mp together, the drum kit justs go buh bye..... WTF is up..... Im willing to read on the instruction book but ...the yamaha book doesnt explain jack......But maybe someone could tell me where to look on the MPC book....Im not lazy, im willin to learn just need alittle guidence i guess..... THANKS IN ADVANCE....

Hey, the first thing is, midi doesnt carry audio, so ull need a mixer of some decription, youll need to plug the audio outs of the MPC to the ins of the mixer and the audio outs of the keyboard into the ins of the mixer, and youll the be able to hear them both together (ie. through headphones or monitors). Your midi cables are correct, the in to the out and the out to the in. It seems like a sync problem you have. Go in to sync mode in the 2000xl (im not using that model so i cant tell ya where that is) and make sure that the MPC is not syncing in or out to anything.
When recording into the comuter all youll need to do with the mixer is have audio cables going from the outs to the ins of your soundcard and youll be able to record both sounds from the keyboard and MPC together.
Your problem with using the drums and the keyboard seems to be that you have the drum program selected aswell as a midi channel, if you want to use the drum sounds dont select a midi channel just a drum program and then move on to another track and turn program off and select a midi channel to ass a sound from the keyboard. I know i didnt write that very clearly at all but i hope it helps, if you have ne questions just ask.
