I went to guitar center the other day. and they finally had the mpc 1000 black version... it seems like they built that one a bit tighter than the original.... i also played with the mpc 500. which i think is dope for beatmaking whiile travling in safe places its just the interface/screen is a bit annoying. as long as it feels somewhat like an mpc (it runs on batteries!) its cool with me.

but anyway the mpc 1000 black maybe built tighter. but the akai os 2.01 is still s***!!!!!
.... the one thing i don't miss at all are the shadow notes that appear when making a sequence... i havent had that problem since jj came on the scene and blessed my mpc 1000 with hiphop greatness!

whatever...

If i come across some major cake and jj blesses the 2500 (no hatin' it feels awesome!) then that would be great to have... but until then im blazing the mpc 1000 4eva!!!

the mpc is indeed a beast.. i dont know why its not so favored as it once was.. i blame romplers and there automated features.. akai definately build machines to give its users control.. i love akai.. as for jj i sitll think he needs to get hired by akai.. imagine what he can do as a project leader for the mpc team...

agreed. i haven't reinstalled 2.1 since the first beta. i wonder what it would feel like to reinstall it...my workflow has changed forever.

strange,strange.

man akai os 2.01 is craptacular. flat out. i was bugging when i was playing with a fresh mpc 1000 bk. im like wow (tapping fast, light, and freely i guess im just used to my old red and blue workhorse  ) but i would listen to what i played and i was just shaking my head like... akai sucks!!!! How could they intentionally program crap like this?!

itll be in the beginning of the sequence like 1:01:00. itll be a pad i know damn well i didnt activate. when i make beats i play chopsticks (one finger  ). and i have small hands so theres no way when im messing with a2 and a5 that a12 is activated as well... buggy indeed!

the akai os that is

hes talkn about ghost notes how in os2.1 say u got 1/8tic setting ull see a 1:00:83 pad1 for example. and theyll be pad1 on 1:00:00.. i dont know why it happens but im still on os2.1i get this from time to time a lil note is there in my projects that i never added..as for os2.1 i will defend akai in this that they still use same formula as they have for all there gear they keep it simple letting u decide how u wanna sample today.. does this cut it for young producers like myself who werent in the game when hardware exploded to the scene like it did?? hell no.. alot of us need automated features and visuals to program anything.. we are spoiled DAMN U SOFTWARE.. but one thing we can agree on akai makes it the akai way... still though they should update there formula they got mad competition with other companys both software and hardware.. if akai wants to be in buisness they have to try to release quality software with there hardware.. they just got owned by jj os witch i dont have installed on my mpc.. but still jj has incredible skill... and it erks me that someone as talented as jj with great ideas as well as an ear for his fans will put out software to meet the demands of the many.. akai could of done this but why cant they?? it doesnt make any sense.. will akai be here next year?? are they goin broke wtf is wrong with akai?remember when os2.1 came out that was shady buisness.. why did they take so long to give a sampler features that are needed.. wtf am i going to do with a wav player sequencer if all i got is velocity and pitch control...and before os2.1 and before 1.7 the mpc1000 didnt have velocity curve or pad velocity filters for pad effects to samples.. i shit u not i did research a while back on this.. it was ghetto than the mpc500 with a huge price on it.. and even longer than that the mpc1000 was originally a 700box so i was told.. im just like damn wtf is akai up to?
