how do i find the time sig of a sample?

sup guys welp im back.. i gots me a small arpigio that i made but i cant figure out its time sig.. its diffinately not 4/4 um im wondering how do i figure it out.. see the problem is its to fast to count and i cut to short..i had an idea that if i change the pitch to a low pitch that i can pretend its longer than it really is that way i can count say 4 bars cut there and then resample when its pp it can be brought back to original sample tone and it would be perfectly cut.. now in theory this works but so fasr it dont.. what am i doing wrong?? any pointers possibly a math formula u guys got that can help?

ok i was thinking should i figure out the tempo of the sample first before i splice to a whole note?... because i just counted 16 downbeats i feel like a cheater and its in sync now but still wtf how would the process be incase this happens agin.. should i find the samples tempo then splice by the whole note using that tempo? or is there another step?

know what man? i had a similar instance a while back. i wanted to use an arpeg but the damn thing was so fast.

so what did i do? created an arpeg synth patch essentially.

chop it! get 4 samples of each little note. put em on 4 pads. then use grid edit to program em in. the result is surprisingly realistic, and MUCH better control than using a sample w/ multiple notes in it. i never advise that.

you know mad brain fart here u got a good point about that... its hard for me to adjust sometimes loops arent the key to all things...ur method always works nym thanks dawg...
