is it a good Idea To change my 1000 for a 2000XL ?

Because, my 1000 have no MTC and i think it's not very funny to works whitout that !!! Also no time stretch too.

In fact the storage device is more easy to use than a zip drive .......
XL have no effect i'am think, and not enought memory also.

I don't know! What exactly are you trying to gain by switching to a 2000xl? It's not really a move up. It's a move sideways. If your thinking of getting something better than look into the 4000. I'm sure you can work around MTC, and if you have a PC it would be far better at timestretching.

My Problem it's i can't use only MPC to make my music, it's nescessary ( for me ) to works also with something like cubase and other. And i'am disapointed that the 1K have no MTC Sync .......

What's wrong with midi clock?

if i'am shure , maybe it's wrong, but whith midi clock the syncronisation work perfectly if i play my sequence at the beginning... but if i decide to work only on a loop (ex: 4 bar to 6 bar) the synchronisation doesn't work !!!

I thought so too, but for some reason Nuendo sending midi clock and only midi clock to my mpc 60 makes the 60 follow the pointer.

Haven't tried it with editing loops.

Yes it's possible i will try it !! But for this moment my sound card died have to buy another !! Did you ever try this tips ?

well I just noticed that when I fast forward in nuendo the MPC track counter moves accordingly, so yeah it seems to work, Not sure on loops.

my opinion, the 1k is designed primarily for use with a computer... or so it seems. The 2k doesn't really need one. I don't use a computer at all in my setup. and for the size of the 1k, its overrated. The 2k is about 3and a half inches longer than a record sleeve. Its not THAT HARD to carry around. Just a bit heavier. I mean, if you're going to a friends house or whatever, you're only carrying it from the house to the car and from the car to the house. You ain't hiking with it. In school I carried books all the time and they all wieghed just as much as my MPC.

The problem I had with the MPC2000xl is the tempermental scsi zips freezing every once in a while and it takes a couple seconds to load samples - in this day and age of high speed everything that was annoying. So I sold it for a Mac - perfect - well not quit. My boy would haul his 2000xl over and Mac's don't have floppy drives and I don't use zips so we ran into getting sounds, seq's etc out of the computer and into the 2000xl (we had to sample everything and in this day and age of high speed everything that was annoying)

So the 1000 eliviated all of these problems and everybodies happy - 1000 all the way dog!

I think u should keep the 1k mos def! Later down the road u might want to use a pc and the 1k can interact wit a pc very well.
