can someone tell me why you would use loop mode when cutting samples I just use trim or zone and wonder what its actually for.

The loop feature in the sample edit is more usefull for sustaining a note of a non-percusive sound. Once you set it up this way, the note sounds as long as you hold the button. Normally the sample is the same length every time, this would allow you to hold for an 1/8th note, 1/16th note or 2 bars if you want all from one sample/pad. Very usefull if you are using 16 note variation with tune, especially since pitch effects the length of non-loopedsamples.
