hi y´all!

first of all, i´m using the MPC60 Mk I with os-version 2.02.
my problem is, that when i hit a drumpad it suddenly also plays the neighbour-drumsound (without touching the other drumpad). it usually starts like this! after a few times trying to play in a sequence always more and more drumsounds start to play simultaniously without touching the other pads.
now it´s impossible to play in a sequence with the sounds i want.
after some time the drumsounds start playing withount even touching the mpc. sometimes like machinegun-drums.. it´s making me crazy!!

yes, i searched the forum before for this problem and yes i cleaned the pads, the sensors plus scratched the corrosion off the ribbon cable!
after doing this it worked perfectly for two weeks but now the same problems again!

what could be the causo of this problem? maybe a softwarebug on v2.02?
has someone experienced the same problem or even has a solution for this?? that would really stop my suicidal thoughts (kidding..)

:P thanks

has nobody ever experienced this problem?

nah man my 60 does this as well and it's really annoying.

im using 3.10
i've cleaned the contact for the memory expansion / reseated the voice chips. cleaned the ribbon cable.

and i know that my issue is nothing to do with the pads because its sometimes triggering samples that arent even assigned to pads.....

i have no idea what is causing it or why it is doing it but yeah i'd use definately use my 60 more if it didn't have this problem..
i can kind of put up with it while im learning.... but obviously i can't output a beat till i fix this..

any ideas anyone?

peace

Something similar to that happened to me once.

My problem was bad disk/bad files. Somehow it got messed up. I'm assuming that was the problem anyway. I changed disks and it never happened again.

?
were u using floppies or zip?

i can't see how this is in any way related to the disk storage.....

floppy

What I think happened was the disk was bad and caused the files to get corrupted and messed things up.

Like I said I don't know. But it never happened again with other files and other disks.

i hope my problem ain´t of the same kind!
my 3.10 upgrade should arrive soon and if the phenomenon appears again after installing it, i see if it´s also triggering not assigned samples.
i really hope that won´t be the case!
btw, i also asked forat and vst about that problem and they answered
the following:

forat: "Try spraying some contact cleaner on the socket that the gray cable plugs into on the sensor board. also check to make sure that the gray ribbon is not cut with wires shorting then re-seat the sensor Mylar (plastic sheet that goes to the black socket)"

vst: "Sounds like your pad sensors are bad - to test, go to empty sequence and check step edit - hit a pad and it should register velocity and duration of only the pad you hit, it registers other pads, this indicates faulty pad sensors."

hope that will help you!
for me, i can´t try it now, cause the problem disappeared for the last 5 days! ...but i´m sure we´re not the only ones having this problem!

i´d like to use my mpc60 all the time and it´s really making me crazy when i´m in the middle of a beat and it starts ******* around!
