can i make a whole program mono so every pad cancles eachother like in the mpc1000?

Nope.
You should know that with the name 2kxl4life
You can only have a pad be cancelled by 2 other possible pads (that you set). 4k allows you to set the actual polyphony of a drum kit, so you can do it there too.

its making a program mono which means what ever sample are in a program will be cancled by the next pad on all 16 pads with out having to assign mute groups which the mpc2000xl can only do 2
its a great function when u want to freak and chop or make studders of ur samples i miss it alot

yea i been trying to get that down but it aint the same if u doing fast programing but it aint no big deal im over it already and just learning the mpc as much as i can

yes u can these ****** are dumb ...u do it like this.....say u have ur drums on program 1....highlight program1 and pressing the window button the it will let u make a new program and put all ur samples in the new program then press
params and at the top of ur screen u will see play:poly turn that to mono then
on ever pad u have a sample on put the voice overlap to mono
now it will cut of any thing thats in that program when u hit the pad
