some obvisouly-haha ,haven't had xl long enough to know that you can convert the programs to mono jus by using mono phone plug. There is always a work around. As for deciding on getting a XL or whatever! try looking at the comparison chart and listen to those who've switched from the 2000,3000,2000xl, to the 25k,4k,and 1k.Me personally ,I'm getting the 4k as the center piece of the Studio,I.....still have the 1k and will keep it as long ..... you know. I do miss the xl,but I'm glad I made the change from the xl to the 1k,why? because I know everything about it.So sea go with what you feel suits you best, but make sure you do your home work. 8)

yea i think u got me on this description , i rather not waste my money to get a 2000xl cuz im trying to get me a 4000 like i prolly said several times haha :D i'll jus keep my 1000 its workin well and it fits all my needs , the only thing i wanted to switch is bcuz it had a better feel to it , ionoe but i think the 4k will kill , i'll jus save up for it . there offering my 1k for $400 so thas not worth it and i would have to pay at least $800 .... not worth the check for a 4k , so i guess i made my final descion , to keep the 1k :D

the feel of the mpc1000 was so poor and cheap i didnt feel pro at all using it even tho it has amazing features that helps making music

but the 2000XL is built so solid and the size is perfect it also makes u think more and get creative

bottom line they are both great machines and will both get the job done :D
