ive been using an iomega zip drive for years on my 2kxl.....the zip drive recently died so i bought another one. the mpc does not recognize the new drive and the new drive does not have the scsi id option on the back. how do i format this drive to work :?

if there is no scsi ID in the back, i dont think you have a scsi drive.. sounds like a parallel drive..

i wonder if these instructions will work on the 2k? also, did you have to solder the wires together or can you just twist them together and tape? im not too familiar with soldering (still!). I will if I HAVE to go that route, but if I dont have to, then I wont...

thanks fellas

Right on.

The 2k motherboard doesn't have an internal 50pin atapi data connector like the 2kxl. The power connector can be done for 2k as in the tutorial but that's it, not the atapi part of the tutorial.

Just so happens that the mcd in that tutorial is the exact same model I bought a while back for my 2kxl. It's the same one that pt3r speaks of in my "useful links" thread. Smoove03, move up to a 2kxl.
