Such a dumb answer, not you, just the answer.

There are several ways to freak internal sounds to fit whatever music style you like.

When people say the "sounds are played" usually that means:

1. You've been listening to producers and/or wannabe's who didn't even tweak.

2. You are on the "sounds are played" bandwagon and you really don't know so you just ride with the popular answer.

3. It's your real, honest and experienced answer (to which I don't think you'd say that if you knew how to freak stuff, also that the Triton/Motif/Fantom are full featured samplers so in reality you'd NEVER even have to use the internal sounds if you didn't want to.

IE. just like others can say reason sounds are played, fruity sounds are played, when in actuality all the aformentioned software/hardware sounds are nice when freaked in capable hands.

Not getting at you at all, but that answer is very misleading.

@ WI, get whatever you need in your studio that will help you achieve your vision.

I'm using a motif es6 and I love it, but from your choices I would say that Triton extreme should be good I've read some of the features on it. Also since you have a computer check out the wide variety of soft synths available such as:

Arturia Minimoog
Arturia CS-80
Native Instruments Prophet, FM7, B4 Absynth

These are just some of a whole boat load of virtual synthesizers and they sound very good indeed, they give you a wide array of sounds and can be tweaked to kingdom come just like any hardware synth! Have fun.

Look Man...im sorry i offended u guys with my answer...honestly thats just how i feel....i have both triton exteme and roland fantom x....if your a tweaker/engineer....get the Fantom...way more parameters to mess with....if u dont want to mess with any sounds get the Motif cuz everything sounds great...that leaves the triton last place for me....so if im gonna drop the money cuz there all around the same price u might as well go with whats more modern and current depending on what u want(that is unless u like vintage synths...which the fantom models pretty good if u get some SRX cards)......other than that i have been messin with software and the sounds of that are mad cheap and better than any keyboard....so its all what u like....and shit if many of these major producers are saying the triton is played out also maybe there right because people started buying the triton because those producers were using it in the first place....so dont be a hypocrite. Really say to yourself....why am i gonna spend 1000-3000 bucks on something old that aint analog

:D I agree with lamp sounds do not play out at all. When you hear a sound in your head you are hearing a sound that you heard before. So, you as a producer or beat maker or want to be, that is what you hear. You are coming up with the combination of sounds that you know and rearanging the in the best way that sounds good to you. You can start a beat from a snare , a riff, a high hat or a sample. SOUNDS CAN NOT PLAY OUT. You can catch a sample of a record that you don't think anyone else has heard then add bass that you heard before and you really thing it is something new. But it's not !!!!!!!!!!!

SOUNDS DO NOT PLAY OUT, maybe melodies, but not even that.....l
