Should i buy MPD24 or not?

i called nova and they said they have em but theyre filling them with pre orders...



the way it looks now, they may not be in regular stock until next year..

i c....well yea they only received 60..........................you might have a chance at guitarcenter or keep calling other places............you might beable to make it on a ecember shipment if you are lucky, but stay persistent playa.

I heard Guitar Center will be the first ones with them.
They should be in stores this week.

thse pads aren't thick like the 2500 though..let me put it to the sensitivy test.

wtf, I thought the pads were supposed to be 2500 quality...

thats bs, and was one of the main reasons i was going to pick up, can you just buy replacement pads, and put them in???

I suppose they won't ever release a controller, with the standard pads... idiots...

Is the case plastic or metal like the 2500?
If it's plastic, the pads are probably the same as the 2500 but the case is just thicker.
It wouldn't make sense for them to make a whole different pad when they already have one.
The sliders look like the same ones on a 2500. The pots look different.

Give us a review on the pad feel and compare it to your Trigger Fingers feel.

the case is plastic, but the bottom part is metal, is as heavy as the mpc 1000 if no heavier.

the pads i am still being through about them, there is a preset for ableton live 6, but so far i have to remap the settings for impulse because the drums are all over the place.

i was fortunate to play with 16 levels.......definitly good with that.the driver is well written for this because tit even works on my laptop that is running xp media center edition. the trigger finger doesn't work too well n my system with media center xp.


the sliders are also well contructed.....its good if you are midi assignin the track sliders to your track volume.......nice feel.

the rotory knobs is where its at! those work great on ableton live. if you love mesing with soft ynths..these knobs are for you.

ok bac to messing with the library edior i have to make this work for ableton live 6.

ok i got the librarian editor to work so these are the ableton live preset for sample slots when using impulse..........

sample 1: C5
sample 2: D5
sample 3: E5
sample 4: F5
sample 5: G5
sample 6: A5
sample 7: B5
sample 8: C6

it works great with ableton live's impulse.........i have a 45 minute ableton live set to attend to tonite, let's see how my fingers hold up when tapping the pads.

on the trigger finger my fingers fatigue after 1/2 an hor woth of use. if my fingers don't hurt and the sensitivty remains the same during the whole set, then its all good.

i want to test this puppy thorough so i will be putting it through mad abuse.

do you know what i set live and the mpd to if i want to fill up 16 slots with impulse... i havent tried it yet cause i was waiting for the mpd 24. I love live and i knwo there is a way to do it but im used to having more than 8 slots for my chops when i use the mpc, and only 8 hinders my creativity. Also why does akai not have the library editor up on their site i find that weird.

Do you need the editor or is it easy to edited by itself?

the editor is quicker but sending and saving seems like a nightmare...........i'm calling akai up.......the pad are great...sensitivity is amazing. i tried the after touch on some soft synths and i was amazed att he expressivness.

still i will pound the hell out of em when it comes to drums.
