If you can remember, the MPC Forums were a lot different before Akai released the 1k. :(

There were less kids..and I do recall not just anyone being able to post in the MPC 3000 forum unless you owned one....I think

I am guessing you are implying that it has gotten better??? The only thing I remember is a bunch of whining...

Go buy one and crack it open next to your 1k.

So is this guy saying the 2500 isn't based on the same Renesas SH7727 microprocessor platform as the 1k? Very intriguing! Do enlighten!

Based on doesn't make something the same.

Now this is exactly what I always talk about. Seems like no one can ever be satisfied with what they got. I'm a die hard 2000xl fan, and I love the 2500. If I was to buy a 2500, it would be becasue it can do a few features that the XL can't do. Some of you have the 2500, and you still want more. Who doesn't wish their current machines could do something else? I'm sure SP-1200 users would love to have just 10 more seconds to sample. ASR-10 users may wish for internal HD, whatever machine you have it would be nice if it could do something else. But why can't some of you just be happy with what the machine can do. It's dope. If you don't like JJ's OS, don't use it. Stick with the akai OS. You have an option. 1000 and 2500 users have a list of shoulda.woulda.coulda's. 2000 and 3000 users are just watching you guys cry about schyt that doesn't mean anything. This topic is like 7 pages long about features that's not even necessary. If you want filters, go buy a device that can filter. When you want a lower bit rate, some of you have no problem spending $1000+ on an SP, but now you got a dope machine, and your complaining about note capacity... and most of you ain't making beats more than 8 bars. If the 2500 isn't good enough for your creative needs, there is an mpc out there called the 4000 that should suite your needs. If JJ's os ain't gonna do it, and akia ain't doing it, then it's not gonna get done... not yet anyways.

good stuff man. I was thinking the same thing. I'm kinda new to this forum and all i see is people complaining about their machine. If its so bad and it can't do all these things that u say then why the hell did you buy it in the first place?

WOW  Are you serious? Satisfied is getting a MPC that has features we all respect that comes out of AKAI from the past into the futere. Satisfied is fixing the problems that exists so we can be creative without errors we are not responsible for.

OK I understand about the extras we ask for and we ask as consumers to let them know what we are interested in which is more important than just 1 or 2 people needs. If a mass number of users agree on something that should be added and then its done we have done ourselves and YOU a great service wether you can use it or not, at least you have the option.

Any Company would love to hear IDEAS from thier consumers so they know how to improve on their product which is why you 2000xl's and 1000's user are happy now because other unlike yourselves step up to the plate to complain or make suggestions or both.

BUT I bet that we wont hear critics when its something they are interested in. Come on give it a break this is what this outlet is for although your opinion is your own lets beware that freedom of choice can close a company down. It's called CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Contrary to popular belief....

I am happy with the MPC 2500. The only things that I want changed is that I want it to have ALL the features of the XL and 3000. The silly idiot who wrote the original OS for the MPC 2500 and 1000 should be smacked for messing with those in the first place....

And I agree with the previous posts. You buy a machine for what it has and not for what you want it to have in the future. If you don't respect the features...simply stop using it and replace it with something that works for you.

I definately know about customer service. There's nothing wrong with letting a manufacturer know about problems your experiencing with their product. bugs are one thing, but a wishlist of new features for a drum machine that JUST came out is crazy. Let them work out the bugs first. I'm sure anyone that copped the 2500 did so because they wanted more than the MPC-2000XL can offer. Seems like most of you want MPC4000 features for an MPC1000/2500 price.

This is true, but you don't have to crack the two machines open to see that. Same basic processing capability, so there shouldn't be any difference in OS features beyond I/O, storage and the way you get at it via the interface. There is no question that Akai deliberately crippled the 1000 OS for fear of competing with the 2500 -- unless this guy has some secret technical insight which he so far has not shared with us.

If Akai wanted to shut down JJ, they wouldn't need to take any legal action or start messing with boot blocks to shut him out. All they would need to do is fix the bugs, copy all of his best features (since he copied from them to begin with -- whats he gonna do? Sue 'em?) and release a new Akai OS that worked and everybody liked. If they did that, why would anybody mess with a same-featured third party OS, especially if their machines were under warranty?

But nooooooooo.........

At least, not yet.....

I still disagree. 4000? :? Naw dude The reason for the wishlist is because we know there are updates that are going to be involved its called "YOU DONT KNOW UNTIL YOU ASK" if not then fine but in the meantime I agree I want my sh!t to work to. Just think so far a lot of the "wishlist" have been answered even if they had already planed to do so. Im sure the eyes are watching and changes made because of this forum. Trust me it works just not when we want it to.
