Tracking With No Sync

Is the only way to track each track out separately is to use Midi/Sync? Since it is not working with 1.22, can you still track each track out separately all at once? I know I could do one track at a time but I was wondering if I could avoid that.

how many tracks you track at once is not the issue... you can track as many tracks as your interface can handle...

the problem is, you will not be LOCKED and it may not be as TIGHT as it should be... i refuse to upgrade because SYNC is more valuable to me then some silly sample feature I can do on the mac...

i suggest going to 1.1

**** that,,, this isnt field recording and post produtcion...lol... when the hell is akai gonna send us our UPDATE to fix the most retarded mistake... they might as well gave us an OS where MIDI OUT doesnt work so you cant trigger things correctly...

search on this board, someone posted a link for me that had the older OS availble...

If u r tracking into pro tools u can press down the trasnsient key and if u click before the waveform and press tab it goes to the start of the transient(bigining of the wave)then u can clear the empty space before it....then what i do is look at my mpc and see when the first note comes in at and i go into spot mode in pro tools and type in the time....everything will alighn perfect....if u know pro tools u know what i am talking about...if not i cant help ya

Yeah....there are a few methods to do this within your DAW of choice...if you actually know how to use these programs.

But hey..JJ just released a free OS for the 2500 which says that MTC is fixed?? Load it up and give it a try...

This timing problem has been a right pain in the ass!
i usually run beats in by MIDI clock sync'd up- but for some reason the swing i've put on the MPC is different when its syncd up to the PC - yes ive turned quantise off on Cubase (running SX3) this is a right pain meaning ive got to record in without sync and line things up in Cubase. Now if I record in a full 140 bar drum track - its really out of time towards the end! I guess this is due to The PC & MPC running at slightly different speeds.

So im stuck with the choice of in time beats with the wrong swing, or beats that gradually run out of time!

Will upgrading my OS to the latest one help with this - I see its got MTC up and running...

your thoughts would be much appreciated.
