So is it worth putting that thing(OS) on my mpc?? I agree ........"anyone has a clear list of the improvements and new features this OS has over the aKai ones?"

Someone give us some real feedback on this thing.

Jahrome did you upload the OS on to your MPC??

Ooooh :D

I'm impressed. Not only has this guy fixed what akai couldn't (MTC now works - yay!), some of the extra and re-made features are brilliant.

My highlights:

- MTC works :D
- the new chop screen is WAY faster for chopping breaks. much easier to flick from one region to another whilst zoomed in.
- the new mode Pad 11 is great for doing mass edits to programs
- new grid edit seems nice

If you're wondering whether to install, do it. unless of course you're a big fan of the features which JJ has left out (ie direct recording, writing cd-r etc.)

Overall: bloody brilliant :D

1.) We need our play/ toggle restart function back.
2.) Global qlink functions are useless if they don't affect the sequence apon playback.

that's all right now.

i think i'm still debating whether to do it or not..... but i guess they're gonna have to make a "MPC2500 - Unofficial OS" forum, huh?

JJ should hook up with someone to translate English better on the site. Its really bad.

All the translations on JJ's site are standard google translations job, so I suspect he/she/they is/are not able to speak any english at all.

Also, wasn't the 1k OS also free up to v4? At least it's a great opportunity to check some of the new features and upgrades.

I'm a happy 2500 user but like how JJ tweaked some functions like the trim mode to make them more efficient.

Well i don't about the rest of you mpc lovers but the os to me is better they added the detect tempo function to make it like the xl you can tell it how many beats are in the sample the akia os only used one bar which was a bad thing i really don't need the direct record or the cd burning if i do i'll just do a track and load the onld os then go back to the jj os lol

Are you implying JJ is Akai?

Hmmm. He has the source code of the MPC 1000 and 2500? I wonder how he got it?

But does it really matter now? It appears from reading that JJ has fixed the MTC issues that some have had problems with.

What does owning a 1gig mem card and a 100 gig hd + a mpc4000 have to do with whether the OS is worth installing in the MPC 2500? Doesn't the MPC 4000 do everything you need it to?
