Should i buy MPD24 or not?

straight from the usb.....the sensitivity is way better than the trigger finger. its as expressive as a 2000xl if not better. the after touch is also expressive if you are playng with any soft synths...so all in all the product is good on a usb connection end. note i haven't even set any velocity curves and my fingers don't have to mash as hard as the trigger finger.

i haven't tried it out on reason yet so wait for that review soon and i haven't done a midi soundcard direct connection yet....buti m sure once i do that, the midi resolution will improve even more because my trigger finger had much less midi latency when plugged directly into my 1616m. so hopefuly i get a much or expressive feel.

do you know what i set live and the mpd to if i want to fill up 16 slots with impulse... i havent tried it yet cause i was waiting for the mpd 24. I love live and i knwo there is a way to do it but im used to having more than 8 slots for my chops when i use the mpc, and only 8 hinders my creativity. Also why does akai not have the library editor up on their site i find that weird.

no but I use Sonar 4 now but I've read nothing but good news about Sonar 6

the features look pretty insane. their website shows all sorts of crazy stuff on 6.

i dont know about the pads tho.. they dont seem as thick as the mpc series pads, but im see how it is in action...

post an update when you can Emf. The MPD24 will be replacing my 1k.

What I don't understand is how the 16 levels works, in say Reason? Does it have seperate Akai software or something? Because being a controller it doens't have any memory for the sample to be loaded up on to, and Reason doesn't have 16 levels...so....?

I want but can't afford a MPC, so i'm seriously considering picking up one of these babies to hold me over a while longer...hopefully a long while...

Now that's so interesting shit right there. It's almost as if it has the samples in memory and just makes use of your computers sequencer/editor.

If it really is better than a 1000, I'll probably pick one up around x-mas.
