i have just attempted to install OS 2.10. I held window button and turned it on. it recognized the update file and began to install. now there has been a blank screen for the past ten minutes. Is this usual?
In the instructions it said 'Do not turn your machine off whilst it is processing', but there is no signs of processing on the screen - it is lit up but blank. It also saidthat it would reboot itself when the work is done.

did you sample directly into the MPC?

you have the Stereo Outs out to your mixer?

what is your set-up?

By burt Mon Nov 06, 2006 7:11 pm
none of the sounds are working. even the demo.

my set-up is stereo outs to m-audio soundcard to alesis M1 monitors. that was working fine before the upgrade. and the same buzz is coming through headphones when theyre plugged direct into the mpc.

check your connections and your PC volume levels.

master control or the M-Audio volume controls.

it sounds like you have the MPC plugged into the wrong input

if that doesn't work then just reinstall the OS and pray : )

someone else may have had this happen. try the Search function.

O RLY?

reinstall that sheat!

now that i think about it, your headphones shouldn't be hissing!

By burt Mon Nov 06, 2006 7:57 pm
thanks cap man but i'm not having much luck. reinstalled and the same thing is happening. although the buzzing only happens when i try to play a demo or sequence. there is no sound from pads in main screen but a very very very quiet sound from pads in trim mode.
i dunno if this info helps but the faster the tempo of the sequence i try to play = the higher pitch buzz. and it acknowledges the beginning of each bar with a quiet click amonst the buzzing.

hmmmmmmm :?

so... more tinkinering has been done. i can record and the input levels are okay, yet the output volume is very very low through both monitors and headphones.

there seems to be a volume issue and this may or may not have a link to the buzzing. i appreciate the help... keep it comin :)

By burt Mon Nov 06, 2006 8:41 pm
ok upon adjusting the overall volume to 0db in mode>other the veryvery quiet samples and recordings are now normal volume. all the demos and sounds that were on the mpc when i got it (secondhand might i add) are not there, except when i go into trim mode where they work fine. i have tried uploading the factory presets from akaipro.com to no avail and have tried evrything else i can think of. dammit.

when you upgrade to 2.0 it changes your program volume levels basic level from 70 to 100 i think.

you may want to check your individual program's

i'll have to look later. gotsta leave for now.

good luck!

yes i got it sorted just in the nick of time - i was contemplating the most conveniant method of suicide.

i reinstalled factory presets and rebooted it whilst holding erase :?

thankyou very much for your help mate.

now the question is - do i update to jjs os - i think i'll read up on that one.

peace!
