man, i think some of the people here are right, akai's really gunna have to step their game up if they want to compete with JJ. apparently JJ added ctrl+alt+del. i've never been able to automatically restart either of my mpc's. i've always had to turn them off and then back on again.
The problem lies in people not correctly communicating to Akai.
What I mean is a lot of discussion goes on around here but how many people actually contact Akai to complain about or inform them of problems?
JJ's OS has been out for a few now, how many people who have tried have bother to contact Akai and say hey look this fixed the bug I was having why haven't you fixed it?
I'm more inclined to complained to the person I paid my $1595 to than the person who gave me an OS to test.
The real thing is when communicating with Akai do it intelligently or your info goes unheard.
Trust me on this.
A lot of JJ's instabilities stem from the fact that the 1k is not a 2500 and he implemented a lot of key strokes changes to make the 1k have certain features.
Unfortunately they are still lurking in the OS and can cause you problems.
When he offers the for pay 2500 OS it may be a more stable OS, but it will still be a 1k in 2500 clothing so bug free performance may never truly be achieved.
And Red, the OS tells the hardware what to do so any glitch can affect both.
I've seen the JJ OS do what from this point on we shall call the
ctrl+alt+del BUG.
That's the perfect name since that's what it look's like.
If it was Windows the Blue screen would have definitely followed.
If you see it happen you will understand why it would scare Jahrome.
Still the sad part remains some are using JJ's OS by choice, but many are doing it because of neccessity.
Again give some usable Akai communication, even if to just say what you like about the JJ or what real problem the Akai OS gives you.
