Connecting MPC to Reason!

I am unsure about connecting the MPC1000 to Reason. I have a midi keyboard (not usb) that i would also like to use with my MPC. Am guessing i have to buy some new cables to do all this.

P.s is the usb from MPC to PC only used for file tranfering?
