I've noticed to copy and delete you now need to push the tap tempo, then an arrow key to bring up copy. Back a few versions ago, copy and delete was right there in grid mode without a second keystroke. I think it's best to have copy, paste, and delete right there in main grid screen. Anyone else?

i sort of agree.. i'd liked the grid edit in 3.06 better than the new version.. also it kinda irritates me that u have to pres tap tempo to select more events.. sometimes it facks up my tempo.

Yes i agree to many sub menus makes work flow cluttered , its fine to have certain features in sub menus but the main tools we use for programming should be as accessible as possible

what if there was a simple one button to switch the pads on/off so they can be used as editing tools when we not banging pads in GRID, this frees up F1-F6

so say F6 switches pads to edit mode and push F6 again to normal "play" mode we then have 16 pads to edit data in GRID

either way, i think the important thing is to maintain work flow, now i'm not saying the OS doesn't "FLOW" , it does but certain features are a hassle to get to due to all the extended features that have been added

i agree, that's why i say that NUMERIC should be delete when using the grid screen cursor

it's just a matter of quick convenience, plus a fairly awkward hand motion involved in the current setup. i don't hate it, and i don't moan in my head every time i had to do that, but you know.

this is one of the MANY moments that i wish i was involved in the coding directly, just for this kind of really small stuff...

Yeah i've had that happen as well, and it definitely was annoying. In my opinion, the tap tempo button shouldn't be used for any other functions except for what it was originally intended for (tap tempo & note repeat).

well i'll take that one step further - i wish these buttons were SEPARATE (like they are on the 500) as i too tend to knack my tempo but whilst in main when im simply wanting repeat options...

so maybe JJ can firstly reprogram the entire OS from scratch to allow user-hotkeys, throw in some AI to 'learn' user behaviour patterns and finally then provide a respray kit with professional lettering (i'll go for a classic sp1200 helvetica pls) to cater for these changes

in fact i tell you what would be good. can i have note repeat optionally assigned to Q2 After button? that would work well for me. I'm right handed and the pads on the left layout irks me (but not enough to downgrade to a 2k) - it really bothers me when im trying to bust my freestyle triplet fills in front of a packed stadium and im all fingers and thumbs. i grew up rocking the R8 roll button and let me tell u krazy kidz it was all about the left finger roll and right finger blast-tap sensation- check it http://www.sequencer.de/pix/roland_TR/R8.jpg

Hmm.. weird, i didn't think my tap tempo button worked for tap tempo anymore, i've tried it but it doesn't seem to ever change the tempo. I thought it was because he implemented the pad tap tempo function. I'll give a try later and work it out.

probably just have it turned off, which i have done, since i never ever need it.

actually if JJ could add [Note Repeat} to the list of P.A.D options then i could fake the left hand roll with steez with a pad from col one. whats the best way to get his attention?
