2Kxl & Motif ES

I own an 2000xl and a Yamaha motif es. I also have a digi 002 console. i am trying to separate my tracks for beats. I usually use a couple drum sounds from the MPC like a kick, snare and maybe a hi-hat, then I'll use a couple synth sounds from the motif, sometimes three. I DON"T own the 8 outs board for the MPC but am wondering how I can sync Pro Tools to record my beats with seperate tracks for proper mixing. Any help would be appreciated.

actually umm......no, you don't "need" the 8 outs. you can record each track individually from the stereo outs but this take ALOT longer! all you have to do is sync protools as the master to your MP and record 1 track at a time. mute the tracks that are not being recorded. if you have 16 tracks, you would have to do this 16 times.

i had to work like this for a few years before i decided to drop the dough about a year ago...

bottom line is that you don't need the 8 outs but it makes tracking your beats a helluvalot easier!!

Beaglin, if you keep hunting on ebay everyday. you can get the 8 outs on there eventually. I paid $200 for mine, but i needed it quick. I yesterday a set of 8 outs went for $115. Also, I just spoke with americanmusical.com, they said they will have new ones in stock in another week or so. they're $249 brand new, but you can make three payments without a credit check if you have a debit/credit card.
