if you know that she is the one who stole your shit, then why don't you file a police report? thats not stooping to her level...i wouldn't suggest breaking into her house cause you could get screwed over for that, but why aren't you trying to get your stuff back legally? and if you don't want her to go to jail, then just drop the charges after you have gotten all of your stuff back...don't let her get away with this because she is probably gonna go and sell all of you stuff and pocket all of the money

A police report was filed right away. I'm trying to get my gear back, but the police arn't doing much about it. I plan on calling them tomorrow to see if there has been any progress. They haven't called me since the incident happened. If the shoe was on the other foot, I am sure I would have been escorted to the station and had prints ran. If you ever are in Detroit and call the police, you will be waiting a very long time for a responce. When my truck got broken into, I was waiting 3 hours in the lobby for someone to unlock the computer so my claim could be filed. After an hour when I asked, "how much longer do I have to wait the cop told me the person was on lunch and that they have no idea when they were to return. A 3 hour lunch??? My neighbor's garage got broken into and they didn't show up untill the next day!!! Their responce; the call was low priority. Since no one was in harm, there was no need to rush. This is the kind of service we have to deal with. Anyone that lives in or around Detroit will tell you simular stories. My X stayes outside detroit, and the police out there don't play. I'm quite sure if I even knocked at her door I would get arrested. I know PLENTY of people that want to handle this situation for me, and I'm telling them to be cool. All I have to do is say the word and I'm REALLY trying no to go that route. Pawnshops are being scanned, ebay, craigslist, etc. If I see my stuff for sale anywhere she will see me, but truthfully she has more sence than that. I have a lot of trust that she will return it once she comes to her sences.

Considering her actions, I doubt she would suddenly start thinking logically. Not only that, but Sterling heights police don't play around. I'm sure I wouldn't get arrested, but probably questioned and asked to leave. I already know it's not at her place, so it's pointless to go over there. If I was a thief, I wouldn't bring the evidence to my home... at least not right away.
