CF Need surgery! Pray for 1k

jus found out why I couldn't get the cf card to read,well guess what?
one of the pins is bent so flat hope she'll live,might need a transplant.So which list do we go on to get another CF drive for the 1k.

oohhhhhhhh back up I just looked again,and it's two pins bent.maaaaan major.......surgery is needed. I need a Pintologist this might be out of my reach.

2 of my pins were crooked - i bent em back straight with a tweezer. delicated operation and hard to get light in there, but i made it work... good luck

well it's broke, do anybody know if it's replaceable besides sending it to AKai or VST.

so kollin how did you unsoder it ,and why sell that as a single card without the 1k,jus curious.

that sucks. same happened to me, cuz i brought the piece of shit floor model. Lucky i was able to bring it back.

sorry man its not my listing, i just saw it the other day and remembered hearing that people were having problems finding them. dont know anything about how it connects, or honestly if that one is even complete or useable. thought it might be worth looking into tho if somone was in need of it tho. for a second i thought about picking it up just incase mine ever did break, but itd be silly. i cant help it im addicted to ebay. good luck with your repair/replacement.

Yeah,if anyone can call Akai and ask them if they sell that piece ( CF Card Reader) separate, I would appreciate it.I can't call I'll be at work allday and want have a my cell phone.Thanks fam

Yo T, got some bad news for ya....
Akai still don't have them in stock (neither does VST of course).
This has been an issue for as long as I can remember.
Why is that? I don't know. But supposedly there's some problems with parts distribution from Japan. Hopefully Akai/Numark can sort it out, as there's a shortage on many parts, let alone the CF reader.

Ok guys this is what I found out,Akai has the CF card reader's in for .....get this $136.00 bones. If your in need of one call the Parts Dept. I think Chuck handles the parts on the 1k.

dj t how do you know it's broken? is it a bent pin? identify the problem and you could probably fix it yourself.

naw man it's broken believe me. one pin fell out ,the other one I manage to bend back. yeah that's to high for a CF reader.

damn mna. pins falling out? is there any advice you can give as to how to avoid this problem? freaks me out a little bit.

for one,don't let anybody put the CF card in alone. I Read back when these 1k's came out that you've got to be extra careful putting the CF cards in or you can break the pins easyly. These things are very delicate.It would be nice if the MPC could start up on the harddrive first or switch back and forth so that we could load up new O.S's on either drive.What i will try to do is see if there is a work around to this,if so then the only time i will be using a CF card will be very minimal. I'll will report back to let you know what happens.

Well,I tryed booting up from the MPC to load old OS and it want do it. It says Bootup vs 1:03. So some how we are working with two OS's starting with 1:03 which is load on the eprom. back to the lab
