Akai CD-ROM Format

In advance, I would just like to acknowledge that my question applies to Akai samplers in general, specifically to an Akai S3000XL, but I suppose it can apply to the MPC as well. I have been searching the web for hours, trying to find a tutorial or a program that will create an Akai formatted cd-rom for my mellotron and farfisa .wav and .aif samples. They will eventually be played on the S3000XL. Does anyone have any idea where to find 21st century technology that will do this? It seems like such a simple task of formatting a disk, however, simply creating an "audio cd" in Toast does nothing (I run a powerbook G4). Please shed some light. Thank you.

what format are you looking for? im not familiar with what you are trying to do

I need the .wav mellotron and farfisa samples to be burnt onto an Akai-formatted disk. The burnt disk will then be placed in an SCSI drive and played through an Akai S3000XL.

i was going to suggest use gold wave to process the samples, but i dont see the akai format as one of the options. did you try emailing akai directly?

Yes, I have. However, I firmly believe this can be resolved without their input. I do not know how they could help seeing as though this sampler was released so long ago. It is just a matter of conversion and formatting. The best bet I have had is ChickenSystem's "Translator" which seems effective, but it's not worth spending $160 on a little program. I'm looking for something more...free...

Yeah that akai CD format is a pain in the arse, your PC CDrom won't even recognise that there is a CD in there.
