Equiptment being held hostage

I let my friend borrow my SP-303 sampler and I told him a week later that I was thinking of buying an MPC 1000 due to its USB. He is willing to lend me his MPC 2000 that is gathering dust at the moment since he started DeeJaying at the GO-GO bar. He freaked out when I said "no thanks but I want my own MPC...so can u trade my equiptment since u get a discount and tax exemption with your friend at guitar center?" he said "NO deal. I will hold your sampler hostage" Damn! i need that extra money for my 1k. What should I do? I'm thinking of telling him "you're right man. Let me use yours for the moment" Then do a 180 degrees. Buy the mpc 1000 anyway and hold his 2000 hostage.

Your friend is a tool. I would borrow his MPC and hit it with my car. Thats just my opinion. I would F*** up some little herb, if they ganked my s***.

the sp 303 is like $350.00 new right the Mpc 2000 is like $1000.00 right I would take his mpc and tell dude,

you can get a lot out of the mpc.......I know you want the 1k but Im saying you can do a lot with the 2k that u cant with the sp 303.......like get more money if dude wanna trade......he aint using it........but I am down to go and get ya stuff back if you want
