you can use any synth to make hip hop.

if you lookin for a rompler.

check out anything made by...

yamaha
korg
roland.

^^^^^^^^^
they're the big three right now.

if your looking for an actual synth
you have soo many options but you gotta do sum research on wat exactly you went it for.

microkorg, ion, bass station, micron, nord lead, alesis andromeda, dave smith, anything by moog, studio electronics, roland.

you gotta be more specific.

Go to you local Musical instrument retailer, do a little hands on testing for yourself. I prefer Korg or Roland.

I stole it...a little music store down the street was liquidating because they were closing and they had the triton there...i told them if they dont sell it by the end of the month I'd pick it up from them for a $1000 cash. And thats how it ended up...i was so excited...

mostly for bass... yes, it's monophonic... yes, it's quite slick looking... it's made real well... if you have the opportunity to pick one up, i would suggest it... if not, you can always grab a rack mount SE1X... thats a pretty serious mono synth... i would like to add that to my arsenal...

yeah, i recommend it too. but if people just wanna rely on presets (and not learn synthesis & internal routing), then they're better off with a rompler.
