V 4.15 tap tempo

I can´t tap the tempo anymore!
pushing the "tap tempo/note repeat" button doesn´t work.
and to asign a pad to tap the tempo doesn´t work either.

to ajust the temp via jogweel works - so I think it isn´t a
master/slave issue.



any ideas?

I had the same problem yesterday... didn't put any effort into finding out where they hided that feature yet

...didn´t change a thing - but today taptempo seems to work.

it's in PAD MODE.

honestly, though, give it up...tap tempo, that is. it's a crutch.

you can also just turn it off, as i've done.

I mean why did he say that tap tempo was a crutch...as in what is his critique of tap tempo. Never thought there could be anything but positives with tap tempo.

i know people just use it to get close to their real tempo, but i find it a pain and think it tends toward people letting their sample dictate their tempo instead of using deep chopping/sampling techniques. tap tempo to me is better suited to a looper like the sp404 or something basic. i feel that people could grow dependent on TT and lean on it.

It's there for people who want it and it's removed for people who don't want it. What's the problem?

As for using it myself, I use it to quickly get to the tempo i want to be in rather than using the jog wheel.

i am new to MPC , and have some samples that are very difficult to Chop well without artifacts to match to some tempo ... they are accoustic bass +hihat samples from Vinyl approximately at 153 BPM ... after conveting to a Patched Phrase the sample doesnt show to many artifacts in sound... even at the same tempo.. so i am trying to build around the original tempo of that samle using Tap tempo to determine the "real" sample tempo ... but find it very difficult... compared less say to Ableton Live that i am used to.

just my first impressions of a MPC100 JJ OS 4.15 Tap tempo and Patched Phrase funcions.
