Hi,
I'm currently looking for a sampler ,,, seriously i don't know how it's named... a loop box maybe lol ... I want to do some remixes with hardware because i'm feeling tired of Virtual DJ, Sound Forge & ACID.

First of all, i know mpc it's a sampler but in other word it's just a synthesizer with possibility to record sample directly right ?
But what i'm looking for is a box that can do loops for a defined length (ex: 1/4 to 32 beats loop choice) and can be played (the sample) indefinitely.

Example about the MPC: is it possible to record live a loop then press a keypad button which the loop is assigned and play it until i repress on the same keypad button ?

I know many cd dual player , scratch cd player that can do that BUT it's only limited to the music that's playing on the cd player ,,, i'm looking for a box that can take loop from inputs.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks everybody! :)

get the new Boss loopstation. I forget what it's called. Or the little brother: RC-20XL

both sick for live turntable compositions/looping

yamaha rs 7000 is a beast or if you want quick on the fly results go for the roland sp 303 or the korg kaoss pad.

First of all, thanks for replying

the Yamaha RS7000 look **** nice !! but it looks like that it's discontinued or old because can't find it on ebay (yes find it 1 only but it's used) compared to many many mpc sold on ebay.

distortedtekno:

i'm afraid to say that i did some research on google for a week , it's all speaking of it's composing feature , midi , etc
Anyway i have asked you guys this because i don't want to buy a MPC1000 or 2500 that will serve just for decoration like 40% of the owners... they had buy a MPC just because it looks cool ....

oh by the way,

I have found the RM1X and SU700 unit on the Yamaha website , but other website says that both are discontinued. Pointless to speak of their product if there not sold anymore LOL just my 2 cents ( I mean on the yamaha website section DJ )...

RS7000 look like it's discontinued too.

they are all discontuined but some of the best tools for live use. For funtction and samples i would say the sp 303 / 404 series is your best bet.

thanks man! just a question about a personal choice, what your best mixer in your opinion ?

Allen & heath looks nice but it's pricy :'(

Aren't there certain DJ mixers that will do that?

Of course you are probably aware that you can do that with Virtual DJ. But if you wanna go hardware one device that I can think off the top of my head that can do that is the Zoom Sampletrak. Not manufactured anymore but I'm sure you can find a cheap used one on eBay.

It's for a DJ rig...

The Denon DN-X1500S looks good dunno if someone here tested it... i had a Numark 5000FX in past ... paid 750 USD used 2 days ,, and now it's in RMA .. something inside as overheated dunno wut... WARRANTY SUCKS !!! it's been 3 months that i have rma'ed the unit ,,, still there somewhere at numark....

Aren't there certain DJ mixers that will do that?

Sure... my 5000FX did that but it was 1 loop only max 30 sec. ,, i want some dedicated hardware only for loops you know because mixer with integrated loop and effects are VERY limited in sampling. They try to attract ppl with many eye candy features but to cut the price they must sacrifice the numbers of features in. I prefer having a box that do only loops even if it's 400 bucks!

Sure but i prefer use hardware than software with a keyboard ;)

So finally i have bought this to complete my lil studio:

Denon DND6000
Denon DN-X1500
PVDJ Grabber

And the next biggy thing will be the TASCAM DV-RA1000HD to buy hehe
