mpc 1000 or 3000? i need help!!!

i want that nice punchy sound that all the producers are using.. ive seen mpc 3k in most of their studios.. including rodney jerkins. i love the timing i love the sound. but is this the typical akai sound? or is the 3k one of the best sounding machines? i need help because i want to buy one..


3k or 1k???? just from sound forget filters and effects im going for warmth and punch.

Sure, but I couldn't tell you which is better, you should check out both and see how you feel

The 3000 might be easier and quicker to work with, but the 1000 has more features.

can anyone share there opinions with their mpc 3000?

There are several topics about the two already, do a search and you can find them. My personal opinion is to get a 1k or 2KXL for features and then run them into a mixer and add 'punch' to them. What benefit would you get from a good sounding stand alone machine?? At some point all sounds have to be recorded and mixed, so therefore if the sound is not as hard as you need it to be, make it wetter.

The thing that I think is the best on the 3000 is the user interface (well, I like the 60's layout better, but the OS with the buttons is just the shit. Really easy to use, never gets in your way.
