MPC MIDI A > MIDI IN on PC

So you have Software Sequencer (cubase)?

You have created a MIDI channel in cubase? You assign MIDI channel 1.

MPC Settings = MIDI / Off / 1A

Should work, but I think there are issues with using Multiple MIDI instruments at once.

Someone correct me.

yeah i have done this. in cubase i have 2 midi channels whit 2 instruments. i record on track1 in the mpc the 1st instrument then i go to track 2 in the mpc and channel 2 in cubase and the mpc plays the 2nd instrument and not the 1st instrument that i record. is there a way to record more midi instruments than just 1?

I think you have to [SHIFT] select.

So, press [SHIFT] and then select the channels you require, so in this case, 1 and 2.

Should work.

Use the latest OS for the MPC 2500 1.22. Within your software, assign each VST instrument to MIDI channels 1 to 16.

Assign a different MIDI channel to each MPC track (each track can only record 1 MIDI channel at a time).

I have the 1.22 OS
Mpc:
Track1
Midi: pgm.OFF 1a

Cubase:
Ravity plugin on Midi chan. 1(piano)

Mpc:
Track2
Midi: pgm.OFF 2a

Cubase:
Edirol plugin on Midi chan. 2(strings)

Is taht right?? When yes i have done this but it dont work(i am stupid or what? i dont now!! :) )
I hear always the VST plugin that i selected in cubase!

Maybe it cant work because i just have a USB Midi Interface from M-Audio( http://www.thomann.de/at/maudio_midisport_uno.htm )

Sorry for my dumb questions! I never had any probs whit my mpc it works fine but only this midi Shit is new for me!

Thx

Its not your MPC...its your Cubase settings. Cubase has a MIDI input filter/transformer of some sort. You can set each track/VST instrument to respond to only one MIDI channel. Once you figure that out, you will be good.

Sorry, I don't use Cubase SE. I use Nuendo but they have similar functions. I would check Cubase for an MIDI Input Transformer or something like that, which allows you to filter MIDI settings for each track.

Did you find the Input Transformer on your Cubase Midi tracks?
