'props indeed. unfortunately, i can't sit here and wait.
if akai comes up with something ill do it. meanwhile, it's time to get creative.
i will document in a "how to" what i do.
but dammit this cannot stand. i'm actually insulted by the poor design of these pads. compared to the rest of the machine, which is great
4 dots of glue? come on. if the machine was tested at ALL rather than just pushed out of akai's birth canal, they would have found this to be a problem and addressed it before mass production.
however, the more i think about it, the more i think that a REAL DIY mod could easily create a permenant solution which needs no upkeep. not just regluing the graphite, but a fullscale reworking of the design.
not for the faint of heart/still-covered-by-warrantee folk.
