Good news for UK cats buying ram

just got a stick of this RAM in the post today. it works great and cheap as chips at 24 quid

So the Ram for the 2500 isn't some proprietary Akai Ram? Just regular SDRAM? I didn't know that..

Regular 144 pin SO-DIMMS @ PC133 work a treat. I've got a 256MB PNY stick from PC World in my 2500.

your MPC didn't recognize all 256 MB did it? Thanks for that information PB.. for some reason I thought Akia was forcing us to buy ram from them!

Nope, it just recognises 128MB. It's a double sided stick IIRC.

so despite buying up the 256meg ram the mpc will only recognise 128 still?

you'll understand when u see the stick. the memory is mounted horizontaly in the mpc. so only one side of the memory is in contact with the memory slot on the mpc board

i wouldnt say you'd be getting 'raped'. mildly molested maybe. buying the akai ram would be getting raped.
