i'll let you all know but if anyone else has any musings or ideas while i'm waiting please keep me informed.

Yes indeed. I'm starting to wonder if they're just being sent from the Newmark PR Department.

bk and bl both have the same type of composition. the difference is apparently in the amount of glue. bks MAY have more glue on their pads. but the same shit will happen to them too.

by the time i'm done i'll have Nym's Pad Solutions for Dummies getting published, so hang on. there is really nothing technical about what i'm doing. honestly, regluing all your pads is harder than what i'm doing! it's just a matter of getting all the pieces together. when i am finished and happy w/ my design, i'll post a long list of stuff you can use.

you know those plastic sleeves that vinyls come in? the stuff that the cardboard slips into? get one of those and hold onto it, that's what you'll be attaching your sensors to.

believe me, this is much easier than it sounds.

no need to keep hope alive, even if akai doesn't repair these things i'm firmly committed to getting an answer on my own that's easy enough for the most technologically foolish person to get it done. this is rediculous, and it's the 1 thing on this machine that makes me grit my teeth anymore. otherwise, i'm very happy with it - happier than i've been with any other piece of equipment within a reasonable price range i've ever really dealt with.

Im looking forward to this pad for dummies thing. Been a dummie with very few pads, im your niche market. im with you on what you said about the 1k been the best money ive spent if it wasnt for the pads. If it wasnt for this "research" going on up in here i would have smashed mine to pieces.
