You can load .wav files or .snd files in the mpc2000 with the 1.72 OS. You can still use MPC editor for making programs but its not mandatory but i strongly recommend it. McSmooth you might wanna check your sources.

Sorry about that, I don't own a 2000, just had read a bunch of times that it 2000 programs look for wav instead of snd. My bad. I'm probably thinking of the older OS. If you are able to use wav and you use the computer, its always the way to go.
